Tracking 2025 Dallas City Council Candidates
Who's on the May 2025 ballot in all 14 districts?
On Saturday, May 3, 2025, voters will decide who to send to Dallas City Hall to represent them in each of 14 districts across Dallas. The mayor is midway through his second four-year term and is not on the ballot in this election.
The candidate filing period closed at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 14.
The following are the candidates who have been certified to appear on the ballot by the Dallas City Secretary’s Office.

4 | Maxie Johnson | A trustee on the Dallas ISD Board since 2019. |
4 | Avis Hardaman | The teacher has lived in Texas for more than 73 years, according to her candidate filing document. |
4 | Kebran W. Alexander | Previously served on the City of Dallas Redistricting Commission as an appointee of current Council Member Carolyn King Arnold. |
5 | Jaime Resendez | Incumbent City Council member is running for his fourth and final term. |
5 | Elizabeth Matus | Self-described “mom, friend and neighbor.” |
6 | Laura Cadena | Former long-time staffer to term-limited District 6 City Council Member Omar Narvaez. |

6 | David Blewett | Served as District 14 Dallas City Council member from 2019-21. He has apparently since moved to District 6. |

6 | Monica R. Alonzo | The former City Council member is trying to win back the seat she held from 2011-17. If elected, she is only eligible to serve one more two-year term. |

6 | Linus Spiller | The 23-year resident of the district ran unsuccessfully in 2017. |
6 | Nicholas “Nico” Quintanilla | Son of the longtime local political activist Carlos Quintanilla. |
6 | Q. Morgan | The caregiver and bus driver is running a write-in campaign, meaning her name will not appear on the ballot. |
7 | Jose Rivas Jr. | The retired Navy officer and District 7 native previously served as a City of Dallas Community Police Oversight Board member. |

9 | Ernest P. Banda | The retiree has lived in the district for 37 years. |
9 | Joseph W. Sarno | The CPA/Attorney is a write-in candidate, so his name will not appear on the ballot. |
10 | Kathy Stewart | Incumbent council member, first elected in 2023. |
10 | Sirrano Keith Baldeo | The perennial candidate is running again. |
10 | LD Pullen | The consultant is a write-in candidate. His name will not appear on the ballot. |
11 | Bill Roth | The longtime Texan is an attorney and owner of a commercial real estate company. |

11 | Jeff Kitner | The North Dallas Chamber of Commerce chief operating officer served as the District 11 park board representative for more than seven years. |

12 | Cara Mendelsohn | Incumbent council member, first elected in 2019. |
12 | Marc Rossouw | The financial advisor has lived in the district for eight years. |
12 | Jose Cavazos | The real estate investor has lived in the district for seven years. |
13 | Gay Donnell Willis | Incumbent council member, first elected in 2021. |
13 | Diane Benjamin | Realtor and former member of the Dallas Senior Affairs Commission. |
14 | Paul E. Ridley | Incumbent council member, first elected in 2021. |
