Incumbent Jaime Resendez is running for his fourth and final term.

Incumbent City Council member Jaime Resendez is running for his fourth and final term representing the southeast Dallas district that includes Pleasant Grove. His lone challenger is Elizabeth Matus, a nanny and secretary. Resendez did not respond to the questionnaire.

Why do you want to be a member of the Dallas City Council, and why are you the best person for the job?
I want to give back to my community with them at heart. Placing each and every family at the forefront with benefits that will prosper and grow them better. I am suitable for this position because I have passion and determination to get us to our destination.
What is the single greatest challenge for your district and how will you address it?
I believe our hardest challenge is safety, by working hang in hand with our precinct police we can achieve this goal. I want to assure the Dallas Police Department that I want to make them stronger and be well equipped at all times. We are going to be a community that will lead and be the example for all of Dallas to see.
What do you see as the greatest opportunities to grow our city's tax base?
Bringing economic development to help the community with homelessness, better streets, out reach programs for the children and teens this will show each and every resident the outcome of their hard earned monies, now and in the future.
What is your political party affiliation and what role will that play in your job as a council member?
I am a Republican with a public servant heart, and a nonpartisan mindset.
